Part Integration 2

TRANSFORM   FIRE FIGHTERS   CLEANSE   PROTECTION

Behaviors like:

  • Doom scrolling
  • Overeating
  • Binge Shopping
  • Workaholism and staying busy
  • Angry Outbursts
  • Emotional Shutdowns

“When meditation is mastered, the mind is unwavering like the flame of a lamp of a windless place…
As the blazing fire reduces wood to ashes, so too does the light of Self-knowledge reduce karma to ashes.”

– Bhagavad Gita

Welcome to our second element.  Fire is the great heart opener.  Beyond chaos and change, we need to stoke the fire of our heart centers to heal our exiled parts. Firefighters are proactive managers who try to save us from hurt, humiliation and shame, or even vulnerability.

This is Chantico, the Toltec goddess of fire. She is sister to the older feminine fire who takes our offerings at the setting sun.

If we only go to the light, for example, spiritual bypassing we can continue to keep parts of ourselves in exile.

We need to bring healing love and fire to the parts of ourselves who try to save us from difficult emotions through distraction and numbing behaviors.

Some numbing behaviors are overeating, excessive shopping, doom scrolling, workaholism, angry outbursts, emotional shutdowns.

The focus isn’t on healing, these protective parts of ourselves are trying to release the emotional discomfort at any cost.

It can be pre-emptive protection that keeps everyone away.  Perhaps you who take care of everyone else. You try to look better to others. It can tear down your self-confidence in order not to trigger emotions.

Often impulsive, our firefighters are fighting the fire of our exiled pain.

The fire is used to cleanse all the sacred instruments, including you.

Meditation and breathwork can bring our Self state to the pain, shame or terror. Rather than do it as a way of staying away from them.

Our hearts are a combination of water and fire, agua quemada, as the heart is the place which burns water into blood. All the elements are relacionado, in relation to each other.

Light a candle, ask for clarity, ask to transform, ask to release the uncomfortable emotion.

Blow on the candle in breathwork. Give oxygen to our internal fire, the fire of our Self, own internal sun.  Having a shining Self at the center of our bodies makes us less vulnerable to our fears and the firefighters trying to protect us.

Cihuatlampa is the place of the women of the setting sun. The Cihuateteo are the women who guide the sun into the west and through the underworld until it transforms and rises again in the east.

Traditionally in my dreaming tradition we ask the Cihuateteo to take everything we don’t need. We offer our breath in meditation as our ofrenda. Every sunset we have the opportunity to release the emotion we no longer need.

Fire represents power and creativity. It’s action, the alchemy of transforming matter. Fire is the sun that gives us life.

Fire is intricately related to matter. It is the only element that can alter the other elements.
